QMapGen 0.5
Posted on 26th Apr 2006 6:36 AM by Jenny (2 comments)
I've added a nice page for a program I once wrote, called QMapGen. Basically, it's a random map generator for Quake (or Quakeworld for the mildly advanced). Click QMapGen in the sidebar to take a peek, it's under Projects.

Keep in mind that this program is still in it's alpha stages. That means that if you don't know what you're doing, this might not be for you. There's no flashy GUI, though it's definitely not difficult to operate. God, See for yourself.

Also, I wrote a similar program for Half-Life (the engines are very much alike) that I will probably put online later. In the interest of total originality, this program was deemed HlMapGen.
Movie quote poll
Posted on 26th Apr 2006 1:28 AM by Jenny (0 comments)
Alright, it's time for a movie quote poll. What is the single most awesome line you have heard in any movie in existance? Use the comments to add your favorite if it's not listed.

My personal favorite:
"Did you notice the sign in front of my house that says dead nigger storage?" "You know why you didn't see that sign? Cos it ain't fucking there, cos storing dead niggers ain't my fucking business, thats why!" (Pulp Fiction)

On a totally unrelated basis, I fixed a minor bug that was causing the site to be relatively slow. It seems to be back to it's old speed now. GG to me for blaming my webhost.
Mount & Blade
Posted on 25th Apr 2006 11:00 PM by Jenny (6 comments)
For those of you that are into gaming, you'll be happy to know that Mount & Blade has recently released a new version. So what is M&B? Basically, it's an action RPG. It's full 3D, both first and third person, and you can do whatever you want, and go wherever you like. You can raise armies, be a trader, be a pirate, the options are limitless. You can even fight on horseback (take that, Oblivion)!

I've been having some fun with this new version last night, and it's quite enjoyable and equally addictive. It's also significantly harder to raise money this time around. I remember playing an older version about a year ago, and it was not nearly as polished as this one.

The game is totally free until you reach level 6, at which point you have to spend 10 bucks to play on. Not much considering what you get in return. Again, eat your heart out, Oblivion. Does it show that I'm disappointed by Oblivion? I don't think it does.

So, without further ado, go check it out!
Color schemes
Posted on 25th Apr 2006 2:35 AM by Jenny (2 comments)
Alright, the color schemes are in place. There's now a handy combobox available when you log in. Available in three flavors: the traditional pink, soft blue and lime green. I'll be sure to add some more later.

edit: added a bunch more

This is probably old news to most of you, but I still love this VGcats comic. Nigga please. Click.
Refurbishment
Posted on 24th Apr 2006 11:34 PM by Jenny (0 comments)
I'll be changing the page depending on which section of the website you're in. This shouldn't be a problem with some clever usage of css. The projects page will be greenish and gaming will be blue. Standard parts of the website (like the news) will remain as they are.

Just so you know.

EDIT: I've decided to ditch this idea. Instead, I will implement the new shades as selective color templates. Coming soon! No more crying about pink by you insecure males.
Windows Vista 5365
Posted on 24th Apr 2006 9:26 AM by sergio (6 comments)
My specialty is Windows (I work at Microsoft, mind you), so I guess a Windows news is in order: Windows Vista 5365 build released. More info here. Dosbox and ScummVM work perfectly in it, so go try it!
Blackrock Burger

Pretty funny read, if you're a (retiring) World of Warcraft player. Or: how to alter your perspective on UBRS forever. Clickety.

On an unrelated note, I've shuffled some shit around so the 'games' and 'projects' categories have their own subdirectories. No real change for you users, but I'm still telling you. So there.
Decoder puzzle
Posted on 24th Apr 2006 9:03 AM by Jenny (0 comments)
I went through some of my old shit and I found this PHP puzzle I made once upon a time. I remembered it was pretty interesting, and it stirred up quite a ruckuss in certain programming circles. So for old times' sake, I added it to the projects menu. Take a look.
